A Funny Story From Evan Berke
We heard a story from Evan Berke about locking himself inside his apartment. Yeah, that sounds like the set-up to a bad Blonde Joke, but it is the absolute truth. And funnier than anything he could have made up.
Evan Berke started his comedy career at 18-years-old while he was a freshman at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. The Atlanta, GA native first took stage at the notorious Upper Deck Tavern on King Street.?
During his time in Charleston, Berke’s relationship with comedy evolved from a small stage hobby to being totally immersed in the local communities. Berke was the resident Director of Comedy at the JAIL BREAK Music & Arts Festival. He performed at the Charleston Comedy Festival, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and was a finalist in the Charleston Standup Comedy Competition. He graduated from CofC with a degree in Media Communications in 2013.
Berke was also an Associate Producer at TMZ in New York, Atlanta & Los Angeles, where he produced segments and interviewed celebrities/public figures. In addition to studying at The Second City in Chicago and Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City, Berke continues to produce comedy tours and showcases featuring the best comedians in the country.
Throughout his comedy career, Berke has performed at iconic clubs like The Laughing Skull & The Punchline in Atlanta; Broadway Comedy Club, The Stand & Gotham in New York; Theatre 99, The American Theatre & Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, SC; Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club in Las Vegas; and The Comedy Store and Ice House Comedy Club in Los Angeles. He still performs frequently and his live event schedule can be viewed here.
Additionally, Berke was the Resident Host of the PechaKucha NYC Chapter, which puts on monthly storytelling events by a diverse group of creatives from around the world. His short film Roaring 20s can be viewed here, and he was a Consulting Producer on No2Mauro Productions latest project, The Show. Berke also co-produced the critically acclaimed standup comedy album by Dusty Slay, Son of a Ditch, which was featured on The Tonight Show.

Needless to say, he stays busy. But Evan did eek out some time to join us on The Approach Shot.
